Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Dagger
A delightfully aged example! The blade is beautiful, it has the earlier nickel silver fittings and there is a small repair to the bottom of the leather on the scabbard. Otherwise a very nice piece, the plated blade is exceptional, nice, and bright. The early F&A Helbig etched maker mark is beautifully executed and retains its original blue pebbled buffer pad. The steel magnetic, blue, pebbled, Moroccan leather covered scabbard is nicely aged as are the fittings and chain. The leather coverage is damaged at the bottom and was repaired with tape long ago. The solid nickel fittings show wonderful age patina and match the hilt in color and age. The solid nickel chain is in excellent condition. It has 9 upper attachment rings and 14 lower, finished with a well working unmarked clip. All four separately inserted brass sun wheel swastikas match. The wood based, blue leather grip has aged nicely and retains its triple wire wrap.
